Project #2 Tamiyah Rousseau Reflection
This project was very exciting, there was an even flow although there were some minor difficulties my group and I were able to pull it through. We all had amazing videos to describe each of our subtopics which was great and very informative! Each group did such a phenomenal job at presenting their power points by projecting their voices, including attention-grabbing videos and pictures, and interacting with the rest of us in the class. Further, I would like to say once again I love these group projects because we all can work together because Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! When my group presented, I was actually the first person to speak and was kind of nervous but ready and eager to see what my classmates’ reactions would be. Everyone communicated very well with one another, helped each other out when needed, and came with positive energy when it was time to present. First, we all discussed what our subtopics were, and we divided ourselves into groups. Next, one of us made google docs for all of us to include our details for the outline which came simple and easy once we figured out our subtopics. Lastly, we all constructed our slides on google slides where we all got very creative with our slides adding creative videos/ pictures and creative colors. Our topic “Hard of Hearing/ Deaf & specific learning disability” (which was Dyslexia) was a great topic. I love the fact that currently they include and bring so much awareness to everyone’s disabilities for example, as I mentioned in my PowerPoint slide the movie “A Quiet Place” has a deaf actor and I love that all the cast members learned sign language in order to communicate with her which is awesome. Similarly, in the movie King Kong vs Godzilla, there is a deaf actor, and she uses sign language to communicate with the monkey (King Kong). Furthermore, having a disability does not limit anyone’s ability to do anything they put their minds to which I find very intriguing, and they advocate that through their wonderful acting skills being great role models for children out there just like them. With every challenge, no matter how insignificant it seems from a distance, it really does shape a person into what they become. No matter what obstacles life throws your way you are to never give up. There is a dire need to value the things you do have rather than not, for which they can easily be taken away. Taking things for granted can leave oneself distraught. Too often we despise what we should value the most. Although one may have a disability, they can do anything they put their mind to as long as they try. I like to always say “Shoot for the stars aim for the Moon” meaning pursue your goals, even if you fail to achieve them, you may still accomplish other great things while trying. If life was a highway and you were driving on it, you have many options some good some bad. It is important to note that you can take the exits that get you to your destination quickest or you miss an exit but take a long way and still get there. The point is that your destination is your successful future, and it is up to you what “exit” you want to take.
Very good!
