Internal Communication |
On the first day of class and we had gotten our first assignment, and it was a presentation on a chapter we were to be assigned and it would be presented in the next class. Before starting presentations we had been separated into 3 groups with each group having a leader. Group 3, my group, was assigned chapter 10 and would use google docs to put it together. By using google docs we were able to communicate and review our presentation together, we also had a group chat to send information or plans times in the day we would be available to work on the presentation. It was nerve-racking to start a class with a group presentation, but not only did my group communicate with one another and expressed concerns, but each group helped one another with problems we couldn't find a fix on our own.
The chapters we had been presenting, had ironically helped us work together better as we read how to work as a team, solve problems, find solutions together, and value everyone's opinion. We used what was given to us, shared it and evaluated it together, and came into class feeling more confident knowing we worked as a whole to create our presentations. As each group presented I caught myself enjoying listening and watching what each group was presenting. Day of the presentation, everyone complemented and supported one another even when difficulties were raised, we all came in with nerves but every group encouraged one another and created a positive atmosphere. To see support throughout everyone's presentation uplifted my mood and others to feel more confident in themselves and in the presentation. Communication was shown in every group before the day of the presentation and during.
Group 1 was well organized in their presentation, each member showed their organizational skills by being straight to the point and giving well-thought-out examples of their topics. The videos they used also helped us the viewers stay invested in the presentation and gather the information they put together. Watching their presentation you could see they had a plan before they came to class, they knew who would be going first and who followed after by naming their individual slides and used that to their advantage to be prepared for their time to present. Group 2 also showed their organization but using more images as examples on different group types, stages of group development, and what conflicts can arise, not only that they also showed how to work better as a group by providing examples of bad group communication like the Argentinia team and their record of loses over the years. Each group was prepared and supported one another throughout their presentations, respecting other groups by also showing their gratitude and giving compliments. This presentation had brought a lot of nerves and feelings of anxiousness, but by using the chapters assigned to each group everyone was able to not only have the information they need to present but also use that information to help them work together as a group!
