Rachel Tout-Puissant
On Monday, May 10th, 2021 was the first day of
class and we were split into groups and were assigned a group presentation. In the group we each had to do 3
slides on what we were going to talk about. Group one did an amazing job
presenting and showing a few videos about each part of their assignment as well
as group 2. In my group, which is group 3 we had chapter 10 which was “Group
Leadership and Problem Solving” everyone had different parts on what we each
were going to talk about. As a team we all did an outstanding job with our
communication and working skills. Most of us in the group didn’t have the book
but one of our group members had the book and sent out pictures of the chapter
we needed to cover. Although, my phone is currently broken now I didn’t know
who/where to get the picture from so I emailed one of my group members Tamiyah
which she was a huge help shout out to her! She literally saved me from getting
an A on the presentation. Since I was
first to present my part of the presentation, I practiced what I was going to
say even though it was on the screen, I even practiced my wording and what word
to use to make me feel more proper and intelligent. I was so anxious to present
my part, I was practicing what I’ll say in my dream. The day of our
presentation I wanted Professor Sinkoff to skip groups 1 and 2 and let group
three present. When I tell you, my voice started cracking up and my hand
started shaking it’s like the words I’ve been practicing slipped my mind and I
was so ready to get it over with. But I felt like I did good at presenting my
part of the work even if I was scared. I feel as if I’ll get use to speaking
out loud in front of my classmates. Being in a group with all this wonderful
soul is just amazing. We all learn from one another and we all help each other
out when its needed. I wouldn’t ask for no other team/group then mine no
offense to the other groups/classmates. We did a phenomenal job at presenting. Group
one had chapter 3 which was “Intercultural Communication” the meaning of
intercultural communication refers to the interactions that occur between
people whose cultures are so different that communication between them is
challenging. As for group 2 who had chapter 9 which was “Communicating in
Groups” the definition of group communication is all the verbal and nonverbal
messages shared among members of the group. Being able to understand those two
chapters with the definition being clear of what they covers mean a lot. It was
a pleasure listening, learning, and reading those two presentations and including
my group which I learned new things I didn’t know or had a refresher of what we
all covered from these three chapters.
Very nice post!! I am glad you are enjoying! I am also!
